Ostler's Cider Vinegar with 'The Mother' 500ml

Apple cider vinegar has been highly regarded as an age-old remedy and store cupboard essential for centuries. Many people use it in cooking, pickling, dressings, vinaigrettes, and sauces. It’s also an effective natural cleaner and disinfectant.

We're pleased to be partnered with Ostlers, a family run Orchard and Cider Mill, established in 1989. Made on their farm using freshly crushed apples that have been allowed to mature, Ostlers’ apple cider vinegar has won the prestigious ‘Taste the West Award’ for six years in a row. Complete with the ‘Mother', their award-winning organic apple cider vinegar is raw, unpasteurised, unfiltered, and loaded with live bacteria and powerful enzymes.

Apple cider vinegar with ‘Mother’ comprises old varieties of cider apple. Formed from naturally-occurring pectin and apple residues, the ‘Mother’ is the dark, cloudy substance in the apple cider vinegar. It appears as protein molecules connected in strand-like chains and only becomes visible when you hold the liquid up to the light. The presence of the ‘Mother’ means the best part of the apple is still intact.

It's worth noting that apple cider vinegar labelled as 'filtered' (a clear liquid) won’t contain the ‘Mother' due to over-processing, filtration and overheating.

It takes three years to make Ostlers’ vinegar, after which the liquid is ready to be bottled. Every single batch is hand-poured, hand-labelled and individually quality checked. There are no nasty added ingredients; just apple cider vinegar with ‘Mother’ in its purest form.
