I can confirm that the Biona Organic Sauerkraut is pasteurised to kill any harmful bacteria, however, the product is fermented and still contains beneficial bacteria. These products have been produced through controlled microbial growth also known as fermentation to boost gut-loving bacteria.

This is pasteurised so during this process it kills all bacteria including the healthy gut friendly bacteria, so it has no purpose other than it's veg in a jar. Very disappointed to find this out. Unpasteurised has all the good stuff in it guys.

My son uses this Sauerkraut and recommended it to me. Still too early to tell how efficacious it is. I don''t know why, but I was expecting this to have a strong vinegary taste but it does not. It has a very mild taste, which is completely lost with some meals.
I wish it had a longer shelf life after opening.
The price is excellent compared with supermarkets and its delivered to the door.
