We use a special oily extract of lichen which is naturally rich in Vitamin D3 (plant-based cholecalciferol), the most bioavailable form of vitamin D. Lichens are small plant species which possess unique attributes enabling them to survive in extreme climates with the ability to grow and accumulate meaningful levels of useful nutrients, including cholecalciferol.
There are many different species of Lichen, however we use a carefully selected strain, following extensive research and development into the best natural sources of Vitamin D3. Lichens grow incredibly slowly so we have secured a suitable source which does not use pesticides and ensures sustainability as well as quality and purity. The vitamin D3 is suspended in pure sunflower seed oil with the antioxidant natural vitamin E, to preserve the natural properties of the oil.
Food supplements should not replace a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

At Nature's Best, we try very hard to be as green as possible in every area of our business, therefore, as I'm sure you are aware, all of our pots and most of our packaging is recyclable. Most councils will accept these for collection in the kerbside recycling scheme. We do appreciate your concerns regarding plastic use, however there are some very important reasons why we continue to use recyclable HDPE pots. Glass is much heavier than plastic and therefore uses much more fuel to transport. Glass is also breakable and so would require the use of more protective packaging, which is often non-recyclable.
Thank you very much for taking the time to provide your feedback. Please be assured that we are always looking for ways to change our packaging to make our company greener.
