Alpha-lipoic acid was discovered over 40 years ago and was originally thought of as a vitamin; however when researchers found that our bodies could synthesize it, the status of 'vitamin' was lost. However a dietary source of alpha-lipoic acid is still important and it is found in almost all foods, especially in kidney, liver, spinach, and broccoli.
For a while it was the subject of rave reviews in some newspapers, along with acetyl-l-carnitine, as it was billed as an 'elixir of life'. We don't think it's that, but we do think it is a powerful antioxidant that the body uses to mop up excess free radicals, the reactive chemicals that can damage our cells.

Daily Intake
As an antioxidant take one tablet daily, preferably with a meal. For other uses, two tablets can be taken, preferably with a meal. Do not exceed recommended daily dose.

Why do you use this product Alpha Lipoic Acid 300mg ?
An often underrated antioxidant, I am so happy Nature's Best Sport have upped the dose to 300mg. This is now superb value for money. I need a higher level for support against muscle damage (triathlete of over 10 years), but also for the energy which it helps to facilitate. I'd recommend this for any aspiring endurance athlete, who needs aerobic support.

Why do you use this product Alpha Lipoic Acid 250mg ?
As an older athlete, I was advised alpha lipoic acid on a daily basis. My recovery between sessions has improved and I feel better for it!
