Apricots provide a good source of iron which is important for red blood cell formation and necessary for energy production. Potassium is also found in plentiful levels and is a key mineral required for healthy nerve tissue and key in hydrating the body.
Beta carotene is a polyphenol in apricots, known to help reduce the effects of free radical build up associated with exercise. Whole Apricots provides a useful source of dietary fibre. ¼ cup provides approximately 3 g of fibre.
I always have these in my drawer at work as a snack. If i am craving something sweet these do the job and stop me going for chocolate or something high in calories!
I eat these as a healthy snack. They are also great added to foods like stew or chopped up on yoghurt.
