Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Welcome to our information hub about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Here you’ll find resources that will give you a better understanding of your condition.

PCOS is related to abnormal hormone levels in the body and affects how the ovaries work. Around 1 in 10 people have the condition, which has symptoms that include irregular periods, excess facial or body hair, and polycystic ovaries, where the ovaries are enlarged and the eggs are surrounded by fluid-filled sacs. While there is no cure for PCOS, symptoms can be treated and effectively managed.

Women with PCOS are faced with a wealth of contrasting, and sometimes contradictory, information regarding their fertility, diet and lifestyle. We have explored everything from the basics of PCOS to your treatment options in order to provide you with insight, advice, and an empathetic resource to help you deal with your symptoms.

Our hub is designed to answer all of your questions and bring you a streamlined version of everything you need to know in one place. We’ve covered every stage of your journey with PCOS, from diagnosis to different treatments you can consider, as well as offering advice on how to manage your physical and emotional well being.

We have used the terms “female” and “women” throughout our health hub, but this advice is for anyone who was assigned female at birth.
