Description
Alka-Seltzer Original Effervescent Tablets are especially effective when taken before bed and again in the morning. They dissolve in water to give a sparkling solution and contain three active substances: aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), citric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate. Aspirin belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and are used to relieve pain and inflammation. Both citric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate form antacids to settle the stomach and relieve the symptoms of heartburn & indigestion.

The dose may be repeated every 4 hours, as required, with a maximum of 4 dosages in 24 hours. These dosages should not be continued for more than three days without consulting a physician.
