Exorex Lotion - 100ml

Exorex Lotion is a dermatological preparation that has been shown in clinical trials to improve the signs and symptoms of mild-to-moderate psoriasis, as well as eczema and other skin related conditions. The active ingredient, coal tar, is recognised for its mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects, which relieves itching. Coal tar absorbs into the skin cells and is believed to inhibit DNA replication within these cells. The absorption process slows down cell division and prevents the cells from excessively replicating, which reduces the thickening and scaling of the skin and clears up psoriasis plaques.

Exorex Lotion's odour isn't as powerful as some other conventional coal tar products, and when diluted, can be used by those with sensitive skin or those who have used steroids in the past. Dilution of Exorex Lotion is also recommended for the elderly and children under twelve years of age.

Before applying Exorex Lotion, the affected areas should be cleansed gently, ideally with non-irritant and fragrance-free Exorex Hair & Body Shampoo. Pat dry, and avoid harsh rubbing. Apply 2 or 3 times a day to those areas of the body affected by psoriasis. No harm will be done if the lotion comes into contact with unaffected areas of skin. The lotion should dry on the skin within about 2 minutes û if it dries before then, it probably means you haven¬ t used enough. If it takes longer to dry, you have used too much. Once dry, apply a compatible moisturiser such as Exorex Moisturising Cream to the same areas
