Gaviscon Infant Sachets provide fast and effective relief for infants aged 1-2 years from the uncomfortable symptoms of gastric regurgitation




Description
Gaviscon Infant sachets treat gastric regurgitation, gastro-oesophageal reflux and reflux associated with hiatus hernia in infants. This sugar free powder belongs to a group of medicines called relux supressants which form a protective 'raft' on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping into the oesophagus (food pipe) which causes pain and discomfort
Usage
Breast-fed infants aged 1-2 years: Under 4.5kg (10lb): One Sachet, Add 5ml of cooled, boiled water to the powder in a glass. Mix to a smooth paste and add another 10ml water to the mix. Give after each feed, using a spoon or feeding bottle. Breast-fed infants aged 1-2 years: Over 4.5kg (10lb): Two Sachets, Add 5ml of cooled, boiled water to the powder in a glass. Mix to a smooth paste and add another 10ml water to the mix. Give after each feed, using a spoon or feeding bottle. Breast-fed infants aged 1-2 years: Under 4.5kg (10lb): One Sachet, Mix into no less than 115ml of each feed in the bottle and shake well. Breast-fed infants aged 1-2 years: Over 4.5kg (10lb): Two Sachets, Mix into no less than 225ml of each feed in the bottle and shake well. Maximum daily dose for infants over 4.5kg (10lb) equates to intake of 3.45g of mannitol E421. Do not give more than six times in 24 hours.

Suitable For For infants aged 1 to 2 years. Not to be used in premature infants or infants under one year except under medical supervision.
Cautions/Allergies
Only to be used on the guidance of a medical practitioners recommendation. Not to be used in situations where excessive water loss is likely, e.g. fever, diarrhoea, vomiting or high room temperature. Not to be used in gastroenteritis where the appropriate treatment is rehydration with fluid replacement. Not suitable for infants with renal failure. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Follow dosage instructions exactly to avoid an excessive amount of product per feed and the possible risk of hypernatraemia.Do not give more than six times in 24 hours. If your child’s condition persists or becomes worse ask your doctor or other professional for advice immediately. You should not use Gaviscon Infant for more than seven days without checking with your doctor or other health professional. If your child takes more Gaviscon Infant than they should: If your child takes too much Gaviscon Infant they may suffer from intestinal obstructions, be sick, lose their appetite, become irritable and tired or weak. If you accidentally give too much Gaviscon Infant ask your doctor or other health professional for advice immediately. If you forget to give Gaviscon Infant: If a dose is missed do not give a double dose with the next feed. Just carry on with the recommended dose.
