Pricing for Quality

Pricing for Quality

At Nature’s Best, we have always strived to provide our customers with the highest quality supplements to support their health and well-being. We take pride in sourcing premium raw
materials to manufacture products that meet our stringent quality standards.

Recently, we have made the difficult decision to adjust some of our supplement prices, and we want to take a moment to explain why.

Raw materials

One of the key factors behind these price adjustments is the rising cost of raw materials. The prices of various ingredients used in the production of our supplements can fluctuate due to many factors, including global market conditions, climate variations, and changes in demand. Unfortunately, we have experienced an increase in the cost of these raw materials.

Tested for quality

We firmly believe in the importance of using high-quality plant extracts in our supplements. We work with trusted suppliers who source premium ingredients however, maintaining this commitment to quality comes at a cost. The careful sourcing, testing and verifying these extracts  requires significant expertise and it’s costly. Each of our products is made specifically for us using our own carefully controlled7 formulations. We never purchase ‘off- the-shelf’ bulk tablets or capsules. And though our ingredients often derive from international sources, they’re all tested for potency and purity in the UK. To detect contamination – something many raw materials are susceptible to –  we employ routine chemical analyses. These tests ensure the following are absent or well below the permitted levels: Heavy metals, PCBs, PAHs, Pesticides, Aflatoxins, Antibiotics, Genetically modified, Irradiated ingredients.

By adjusting our supplement prices, we are ensuring that we can continue to provide our customers with the uncompromising quality and efficacy they have come to expect from us.

We remain committed to delivering exceptional products that enhance their overall wellness and contribute to their long-term health goals.

Our fish oil supplements

Warming of surface sea temperatures occurs every few years and during 2023 this had a strong effect on marine life, with adult fish moving away from normal fishing areas. Oil yields were very low, meaning the fish were lean rather than fat, resulting in less DHA and EPA being produced. Coupled with this was the suspension of the fishing season days after it opened, the objective being to protect the high number of juvenile fish and by doing so, preserve the sustainability of the fishery resource. Lack of supply has led to rising costs. It’s why we commit to responsibly sourced fish for all our Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements and the Friends of the Sea® accreditation assures customers that the fisheries operating in our supply chain do so ethically.

These changes to fishing mean we’ve seen prices rocket as demand outstrips supply. Although we’ve done all we can to absorb costs, we have had to review our fish oil supplements and make some adjustments to prices.

Artichoke

Our artichoke comes from a supplier with specialist extraction units exclusively used for processing fresh plant material such as artichoke. Changing climatic conditions, including altered precipitation and temperature fluctuations affect yields and have led to steep cost rises. We work with a supplier committed to responsible agriculture, with a clear and transparent sustainable development. They employ measures to control plant diseases, using sustainable strategies (mechanical weeding development of hardy plants and tri-annual treatment) to guarantee exceptional quality.

Evening primrose oil

Our oils come from a supplier that selects their own seed growers based on knowledge and expertise to guarantee excellent quality ingredients. The oil is obtained by cold pressing of the seed, a more costly process and each step in the production process is closely monitored to ensure a consistently high-quality oil.

Our CoQ10 supplements

Worldwide demand for CoQ10 has risen sharply, leading to a shortage of raw material, and price Increases. But not all CoQ10 is the same.

We continue to buy the purest, most thoroughly researched CoQ10 raw material available, from a reputable supplier, with over 30 years of manufacturing. Our Co Q10 is bio-identical to the CoQ10 produced within the body. This natural CoQ10 is made through a fermentation process from pure, natural yeast. It’s a difficult and costly process, but one we feel confident in delivering the purest grade material available. Many CoQ10 ingredients are processed from bacteria or tobacco derivatives to cut costs.

Flourishe®

Our chicory root comes from growers with more than ten years’ experience in production. Only the highest quality variety of chicory seeds from Europe are selected and planted. There is a sophisticated field management system in place too from field to factory. Following harvesting, the roots are transported to the production site where they are weighed, washed and sliced. The chicory root fibres are gently extracted from the chicory root using pure hot water and the raw juice is then filtrated before being evaporated and spray dried. There is a strict control of pH and temperature through-out the whole manufacturing process, to ensure the precious oligofructose (FOS) material is retained. We've seen costs rise in recent months, however many of the published studies have been conducted on FOS from chicory which is why we prefer this as a source to the cheaper source extracted from sugar beet fibre.
