Starflower oil is the oil extracted from borage seeds which has been found to have a naturally high level of the precious compound called GLA. This is an Omega 6 fatty acid which is used by the body to make certain hormones. In theory our bodies can make GLA but research on evening primrose oil has shown that supplements of GLA can be helpful for some people, and now many women choose a GLA supplement around the time of their period.

Starflower oil is a very concentrated source of GLA which means that each capsule can deliver more than twice the level of GLA than the equivalent sized evening primrose capsule.

great for stopping period pain and sore boobs. my periods are now perfectly regular. I use this with Premtis and vitex agnus castus coz i used to get awful period pain. Don't know if i need them all but im not risking it! Thanks

Why do you use this product Starflower Oil 1000mg ? I suffer with awful breast tenderness which has been getting worse since I hit my 40's. This has eridcated it completely. I stopped taking it for 2 weeks and by the end of the 2nd week I was in agony again. I won't ever stop taking it now. My husband says I'm also less irritable coming up to me period! Win, win!

i have been using evening primrose for several years, for breast tenderness, at the time of the month they hurt and are very uncomfortable.It was becoming less effective so i hear that starflower was even better as it is stronger. Just started taking it the other day and already although its early days i can see improvement in my pain.

I was recommended this product by the practice nurse at my doctors. I was sufferring with extreme tenderness in my breasts all month and especialy during my period and gone for a check up with the doctor. I suffer with swollen and painful breasts and was advised to take a dose of 360mg of GLA per day by a specialist. I have done this for several years and it removes virtually all symptoms until I stop taking it when the symptoms return. I don't take 360mg per day just one capsule with a high GLA content. I used to purchase a high content capsule from a high street health food shop but they put the price up dramatically and reduced the GLA content at the same time. Then after an internet trawl, I discovered Nature's Best! Not only does it have a high GLA content but its cheaper too. I wish I'd discovered this company before.

I use this product because I suffer from severe breast pain at certain times of the month. As this product has a high content of GLA I was advised that this would help. Since taking starflower oil 1000mg I have noticed a big difference, the pain has not totally disappeared by has been reduced. It has also helped with the condition of my skin.
