Turmeric - Tested to the extreme

A recent survey in the USA found that 5 out of 13 turmeric products tested in an independent laboratory failed to meet their label claim for curcumin, the active compound in turmeric and in some cases just half the expected amount was found. Also, several products were found to be contaminated with heavy metals such as lead and cadmium.
