Acidophilus Extra 4 Billion
One of the UK’s best known probiotics
This is our top selling probiotic product. Each capsule contains 4 billion live friendly bacteria. We use two carefully selected strains of friendly bacteria, both widely used in clinical studies, Lactobacillus acidophilus La-5 and Bifidobacterium Bb-12. More importantly the species of bacteria provided by this probiotic product are specially selected for use in human health, rather than for their ability to make tasty yoghurt! Each small capsule is equivalent to 8 pots of bio-yoghurt, without all the calories!
Nature’s Best was one of the first companies to supply probiotic capsules in the UK (over 20 years ago), so we have developed an expertise in this area. As a result of this, an independent study found our probiotic was one of the few tested that contained the species and the strength of bacteria claimed on the label. Probiotic capsules only work if the friendly bacteria are kept alive in a state of ‘suspended animation’ so that after swallowing they are still viable. A number of years ago I had an allergic reaction to anitbiotics and ended up with Chronic Candidiasis so I am acutely aware of the problems that can be caused by over active fungus/yeasts in the gut and how it insiduously affects everything from fungal toes to memory loss. My husband had recurring bouts of IBS after suffering a severe food poisoning episode some years ago that left him with a weak stomach so we both take this supplement daily (4 million) & substitute the stronger supplement (10 million) when taking medications, overindulging on sugar, alcohol, cheese (or other fermeted or mould products) or unwell just to help keep the good gut flora in balance. I certainly wouldn't go away on holiday without packing enough for the duration. It's very important to have a strong supplement & to know whether it needs keeping in the fridge or not, otherwise it's rendered useless when stored incorrectly. A 'must have' supplement when taking antibiotics if you want to stay healthy

Why do you use this product Acidophilus Extra 4 Billion ? I suffer with irritable bowel syndrome and have taken acidophilus for years. I love this product because you don't have to keep it in the fridge, which makes it ultimately portable. I hav not only recommended this product to friends but have actually bought it for them! I always keep the 10 billion tablets in reserve for travelling and after illness. They are xspensive but worth it.

I use Acidophilus Extra 4 Billion to help with bloating and cramps from eating too much processed wheat products. It is very effective and yet mild enough for me to continue using it while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Why do you use this product Acidophilus Extra 4 Billion ? I started taking these as I had been suffering with Gastroenteritis and this in turn exacerbated other health/immune issues that I had been unable to resolve. Knowing that the stomach is often the first line of defence against bacteria/germs I wondered if, by building up my good bacteria, it would solve my health issues and also help with digestion. It started to regulate my bowel habits and my health improved greatly. You suggested I cut down from Acidophillus 10 billion to 4 billion as the latter is for long term use. I would thoroughly recommend this product without hesitation.

Why do you use this product Acidophilus Extra 4 Billion ? I use it because I feel safer when my kids and I travel or spend time at the seaside, during the hot summer, when there is a higher possibility that we might catch some stomach virus/bacteria which might cause diarrhea or other problems. I somehow feel that it strengthens the immunity, too.
